IT’S National Poetry Day, so we asked Wanderers fans for their deathless prose.

There hasn’t been much inspiration at the Macron Stadium of late but our appeal prompted plenty of people to pick up their pen and rattle out a rhyme.

Supporters have sent in their long-forms, limericks, haikus and ditties throughout the day and we have selected some of the best below.

The Bolton News: FRESH CHALLENGE: Phil Parkinson is relishing the job of turning around Wanderers' fortunes

PHIL Parky had a dream, to build a winning football team

He took the frees, cast offs and loans but quelled the whines, the gripes and moans.

Division One was nearly won but the journey had only just begun

Promotion came and so to pass, the Championship loomed up at last

More loans and frees and boardroom wrangles but hopes were high despite the tangles

10 games in and then it dawned that the family silver had been pawned

Less points than for a speed offence, no threat up front and 5 man defence

Fan disquiet and some unrest will Parky rise to pass the test?

Can this team remain so tame and sink back to where it just came?

Or will we scrape enough to mean, that after Christmas it’s not so lean

And come the end of this hard season will Parky be the cause to reason

If backing him to stop the rot, was the best decision, correct or not?

In League One, they were so good.

Championship – it’s not as easy, Plan A falling apart completely, Injuries, goal difference, league positon, Not what we envisioned.

But our luck must turn and the day will come, When we celebrate success not relegation.

Interested to see how this plays out, Either way, back the boys, without a doubt.

By Kelly Williams A winter’s afternoon, Away to Blackburn.

Three one before half time, The point of no return.

I'm sure he owns a Blackburn shirt, Someone said about the ref, No need to panic yet, Because we have Djorkaeff.

A spark was needed, Show us a sign!

The Frenchman lobbed the keeper, Even with him on his line.

Blackburn looked lost, And appeared dishevelled, A controlled volley from Stelios, Was enough to pull us level.

Blackburn looked beaten, The wanderers stood brave and tall, Nobby Nolan on the spin, The sweetest victory of all.

How long before Parky will see, He needs to find a plan B?

No win in 10, for the White men.

The tactics are wrong, stop knocking it long.

It’s becoming a bore, we struggle to score.

With three at the back, and no attack.

Survival will be out of range, if things don’t change.

Hard work undone, back down to League One.

Goals to the left of them

Goals to the right of them

Volleys and headers

Skinned as they fell past defenders

Not ended well

Conceded 600

We went down to league 1, And went back up first time.

The new season started badly, And all the fans did whine.

Ameobi has returned, And Vela is back soon.

Now all we need is a goal, To get us back in tune.

I wandered lonely as a striker

That floats on high o'er centre backs and fullbacks,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of Bolton faithful Beside the Macron, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the floodlights.

I know I want shoot I know I want to head the ball,

I know I want to score with ease.

Ken bought the club with Deano,

But now he's going it alone,

If he wants to avoid a PR nightmare,

He should probably confiscate Lee's phone

There was no proper training,

It was all ping pong.

He signed Sordell and Ngog

And it went very very wrong

Megson was awful, Lennon was dire,
Now we've got Parky, we're still in the mire.

Megson Freedman and Coyle

with Bolton they all were foiled

Then we got Phil and all was brill

Until the championship restarted our toil

Wanderers til the day I die
Once in, never out
Yet sometimes I do wonder why,
I looked North, not South
Bibi Gardner is the reason
I became a White
But Bolton has no festive season,
So far it's been a fright
You get what you pay for and we haven't paid a cent
But we have to make some changes soon before our time is spent
Up next we play the villains
With Terry at the back
With no fear, let's go out there
Attack! Attack! Attack!
