TEN-MAN Wanderers Under-18s fought back from 3-1 down to earn a share of the spoils at Millwall on Saturday.
Goals from Eddie Brown, Dennis Politic and Luca Navarro secured a 3-3 draw after goalkeeper James Aspinall had been sent off in the U18 Professional Development League clash in south London.
Nicky Spooner's side began brightly and after missing an early chance, Brown headed home the opener on 11 minutes from a Shakeel Jones-Griffiths cross.
But the Lions were level just before half time when they netted from the penalty spot.
And the second half started in the same fashion when they were awarded a second spot-kick after their striker was brought down by Aspinall, earning the stopper a harsh red card just 15 minutes in.
It led to Brown donning the keeper's gloves but he was helpless to keep the penalty out.
The 10 men of Wanderers kept battling and Politic was unlucky not to equalise when his effort from 25 yards hit the post.
Against the run of play, the hosts looked to have sealed victory with a third goal but straight from the restart, Navarro spotted the Lions stopper off his line and scored from inside his own half.
It was game on now and Navarro hit the bar from a Cameron Moore cross.
Then, with two minutes to go, Navarro got his goal with a fine volley to earn a deserved point for the young Whites.
Spooner said: "After the disappointment of conceding the second we were the better team with Politic unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions.
"Millwall then scored against the run of play.
"But, after going two goals down and playing with 10 men for 30 minutes, the team showed a great attitude to come back and were disappointed not to win."
