WANDERERS used 45 players this past season – a club record for any football season played outside the two wars.
Such have been the injury problems that have faced the club, not to mention a change in management and consequent lack of continuity in selection, there has been an unprecedented number of players on the books this year.
Wanderers twice used 48 different footballers in a single campaign (1940-41 and 1942-43) and also topped the 40 mark in 1918-19 and 1943-44.
Aside from crisis-club Blackpool, no other club in the Championship managed to use more players this season.
Here we take a look at every player to have played a competitive match for Wanderers. Only those who have played 10 games or more have been given a rating out of 10.
BEN AMOS – The Manchester United loanee was quite frankly stunning in his nine games for Wanderers. Many fans would love to see him back again next season 8.

BARRY BANNAN – The on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder blotted his copybook with “hotelgate” but his performances on the pitch were never anything other than totally committed. 6.5

JERMAINE BECKFORD – Hauled off the bench by Lennon and given a chance to be the main man. Failed miserably. Regained his goal touch after going on loan at Preston. 4
Apps - 8(8) Gls – 2
ADAM BOGDAN – Proved why Lennon is desperate to keep him on a number of occasions. Slight concern over injuries this season but the Hungarian is definitely a class act. 7

MAX CLAYTON – Showed real promise on his arrival from Crewe before being struck down by a serious knee injury. Looking forward to seeing him next season. 6
Apps – 5(4) Gls – 1
ZACH CLOUGH – Incredible introduction to senior football before a cruel shoulder injury. The future of Bolton Wanderers? Probably so. 7.5
Apps – 8(2) Gls – 6
GILES COKE – Came in on loan from Sheffield Wednesday at the height of the injury crisis and did a solid job. Unlikely to sign again next season. 5.5
Apps – 3(1) Gls - 0
NEIL DANNS – Responded well to Lennon’s arrival but lost form and focus in the second half of the campaign. Much-publicised discipline issue was out of character. 5.5
Apps – 40(7) Gls - 3
CRAIG DAVIES – Oh for a full-fit Craig Davies. The jostling striker has everything to be a hero at Wanderers but has been let down too often by his own body. 6
Apps – 18(17) Gls – 7
MARK DAVIES – Should be at the peak of his powers. On his day, one of the best midfielders in the division but those days are too few and far between. 5.5
Apps – 9(6) Gls – 2
DORIAN DERVITE – After a solid start to the season the French defender has gone well off course. Looks ill at ease when Wanderers play three at the back. 5.5
Apps – 40(3) Gls – 0
TOM EAVES – Loaned to Yeovil Town then Bury, the young striker still has 12 months on his contract to try and convince Lennon he can cut it at this level. N/A
Apps – 0(1) Gls – 0
LIAM FEENEY – Enjoyed a purple patch in November and December and never lets you down for effort. His final ball is too often a poor one, though. 5
Apps – 41(6) Gls – 3
OWEN GARVAN – Miles off the pace when he was brought in by Dougie Freedman from Crystal Palace. Played just three times in three months. N/A
Apps – 3 Gls – 0
EIDUR GUDJOHNSEN – Huge role model at Wanderers and there have been times when the Icelander has rolled back the years on the pitch. 6.5
Apps – 14(10) Gls – 6
ROB HALL – Tipped for the top by Freedman but binned quickly by Lennon. Looks to be surplus to requirements despite loan success at MK Dons. 4.5
Apps – 3(7) Gls – 0
CHRIS HERD – Plunged into action after months out injured, the Aston Villa defender was technically sound but far from fit. N/A
Apps – 3 Gls – 0
EMILE HESKEY – Love him or hate him, the burly striker continues to put it all on the line at the age of 38. Lennon’s trust in his former Leicester team-mate is total. 6.5
Apps – 13(5) Gls - 1
SAIDY JANKO – A stunning strike against Fulham and some lively cameos hint at something better but a nagging nerve problem has held the Manchester United man back. 6
Apps – 6(4) Gls - 1
ANDY KELLETT – Dealt the move of a lifetime after agreeing a loan spell at Manchester United. Future for the Bolton winger is now unclear. N/A
Apps – 1 Gls – 0
ADAM LE FONDRE – The fox in the box that Wanderers have missed since Ivan Klasnic left the club. Fans clamour for his return but it won’t come cheap. 7
Apps – 16(1) Gls - 8
CHUNG-YONG LEE – Sold to Crystal Palace after finding his mojo again at Wanderers. His class in midfield was very sorely missed in the New Year. 7
Apps – 22(4) Gls - 3
CHRIS LESTER – Young winger’s star has fallen since breaking on to the first team scene last season. Looking likely he will leave Wanderers. N/A
Apps – 1 Gls – 0
ANDY LONERGAN – Went from being described as the best keeper in the Championship to being ushered out of the exit door. Incredible turn around. 6
Apps – 31(1) Gls – 0
JOE MASON – Scored hat-trick against Rotherham to match Fredi Bobic’s achievement. Never quite fit under Lennon before injury ended his loan from Cardiff. 6
Apps – 9(5) Gls - 4
PADDY MCCARTHY – Rugged Irish defender looked like the kind of leader Lennon had been looking for. Struggled under weight of games after Crystal Palace loan. N/A
Apps – 5 Gls – 0
KEVIN MCNAUGTON – Didn’t match last season’s consistency before an unlikely comeback under Lennon in March, and another unlucky injury against Reading. N/A
Apps – 8(1) Gls – 0
MEDO KAMARA – Another regarded by Freedman as a key player but quickly cast aside by Lennon. Loaned out to Maccabi Haifa, probably never to return. N/A
Apps – 5(1) Gls – 0
MATT MILLS – Took on the captain’s role from Jay Spearing and looked a good fit until some shaky form and fitness problems. Contractual issues didn’t help either. 6
Apps – 41 Gls – 5
DEAN MOXEY – Finished the season quite strongly, which made him an exception in the camp. Less said about his early games, the better. 5.5
Apps – 17(6) Gls - 1
DARREN PRATLEY – Transformed what had been an inglorious Wanderers career inside a few months. Power, energy and vital goals before decimating injury. 7
Apps – 24(3) Gls – 5
TIM REAM – After an unsteady start the American quickly regained his consistency, even as an emergency left-back. Won a second successive player of the season award. 7
Apps – 47(2) Gls – 0
ROCHINHA – Magical on debut at Ipswich but never quite the same. The young Portuguese midfielder has raw talent but is the Championship right for him? N/A
Apps – 4 Gls – 0
SIMEON SLAVCHEV – Bulgaria international whose Wanderers career came and went in a blink of an eye. A non-descript 45 minutes at Derby. N/A
Apps – 0(1) Gls - 0
JAY SPEARING – Gave up captain’s armband after leaving for Blackburn on loan. Clearly not Lennon’s cup of tea as a midfielder and likely to leave this summer. 5
Apps – 15(8) Gls – 1
QUADE TAYLOR – Played in the final game of the season against Birmingham and looked composed. Should sign a new deal soon. N/A
Apps – 1 Gls – 0
OSCAR THRELKELD – Looked out of his depth at Norwich but recovered to play a part in the season finale. The Academy defender needs regular football. N/A
Apps – 5(1) Gls -0
LIAM TROTTER – Looks like a midfielder that should succeed under Lennon but has failed woefully thus far to prove it. Candidate to move on this summer. 4
Apps – 10(8) Gls – 1
FILIP TWARDZIK – Signed from Celtic and scored on debut at Derby but the young Czech midfielder was plunged into the first team far too early. N/A
Apps – 1(2) Gls – 1
JOSH VELA – On the verge of quitting Wanderers before Lennon came in to give him a new lease of life. One of this season’s real success stories. 8
Apps – 28(4) Gls – 0
TOM WALKER – Given a surprise run by Lennon in March and scored his first senior goal against Wigan. At 19 he has plenty to learn but has clear promise. 6
Apps – 9(2) Gls - 1
DAVID WHEATER – Would solve a lot of problems for Lennon if he could beat his injury jinx. The kind of dominant centre-half he’s crying out for. 6
Apps – 16(5) Gls – 1
HAYDEN WHITE – Loan experiences at Carlisle and Bury will have done the young full-back good. White has the tools to succeed. N/A
Apps – 2(1) Gls – 0
CONOR WILKINSON – Loaned out to Oldham twice to gain more senior experience, Lennon definitely sees something in the strapping young striker. N/A
Apps – 5(3) Gls – 0
KAIYNE WOOLERY – After a loan at Notts County Woolery was given a brief taste of action for Wanderers at Bournemouth. One to watch. N/A
Apps – 0(1) Gls - 0
