ITV is welcoming a new cast member to Coronation Street as former Brookside star Claire Sweeney steps into a prime role.
Sweeney will play Tyrone Dobbs's mother Cassie, with viewers of the soap aware that Tyrone grew up thinking his real mum was Jackie Dobbs, played by Margi Clarke.
But back in 2018, Tyrone did some digging and found that Cassie was in fact his biological mother.
However, Cassis wasn't trusted to look after the young Tyrone as she battled a drug problem, seeing Tyrone told that she had died.
But the truth was quick to come out after Cassie showed up at Tyrone's door back in June.

Claire Sweeney to join Coronation Street
Sweeny starred on as Lindsey Corhill whilst on Brookside from 1991 to 2003.
Now as she steps into the role of Cassie, Corhill has shared her excitement for the role, saying: "Even though I’ve been lucky enough to have enjoyed an amazingly varied career for nearly 40 years, being cast in Coronation Street is, to me, better than being cast in a Hollywood movie!"
Adding: "I’ve watched it all my life and can’t quite believe that I’ll now be stepping onto those famous cobbles myself.
"I was really nervous when I got the scripts to audition as this show means so much to me and my family and this is Corrie gold. I was beyond thrilled and very grateful when I got the call that Iain MacLeod is trusting me to play Tyrone's mum and work alongside one of my heroes, Dame Maureen Lipman.
"Cassie is a character who is definitely going to make an impact. I just hope the audience will enjoy watching her as much as I'm going to be enjoying playing her!"
