Former Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered £186 million to move his career to Saudi Arabia, according to a report by CBS.

The Portuguese footballer who captains his country's national team left Man United after a spat with the club's management.

Both sides said the decision to cut ties was mutual with Ronaldo saying in a statement on Twitter: "I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never change. 

"However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge."

The player was also landed with a £50,000 fine and two-game suspension after an investigation over the breaking of a young fan's phone found "that his conduct was both improper and violent."

The nearly £200 million offer is reported to come from Al-Nassr, a Saudi Arabian football club on the lookout for its new squad.

The report states that Ronaldo may be of interest to a number of Middle Eastern clubs.

The 37-year-old is eager to reenter top-flight football and, after breaking a World Cup record in Qatar, may be looking at offers for where to take his career after the tournament.

A source close to the club said that their "interest is as strong as ever" with the deal understood to pay Ronaldo £75 million a year.

It is also believed that talks are relatively advanced as contact between the two parties took place in the summer.
