Social distancing will remain in place in Cineworld auditoriums across the country as lockdown restrictions are lifted in England.
The nation’s leading cinema chain, Cineworld, confirmed that they will maintain social distancing in all auditoriums, as well as maintaining hand sanitiser stations, deep cleaning, plastic till screens and more.
The announcement comes as competing cinema chains removed all social distancing measures following ‘Freedom Day’ on July 19th.
Cinema-goers have expressed their thanks to the chain on social media following the announcement.
One user said: “Brilliant news, a big well done and thank you for doing the right thing.”
“With so many praising ‘Freedom Day’ it’s nice to see a company still taking precautions,” added another.
Meanwhile, with a heatwave sending UK temperatures soaring, Cineworld is also reminding customers that the cinema is the best place to chill, with glorious air conditioning and a fabulous slate of upcoming releases.
Night Shyamalan’s Old, The Suicide Squad and Disney’s Jungle Cruise are among new releases for film fans. You can see them all with a Cineworld Unlimited membership, now available from only £9.99 per month.
One social media joked: “You had me at air-con. Can I stay overnight?”
While Cineworld cannot offer overnight stays, it can keep visitors more than cool enough for the duration of the film with ICEE frozen drinks, ice creams or milkshakes from Baskin Robbins and iced coffees from its 38 in-cinema Starbucks venues.
Its nationwide 4DX extreme cinema screenings even feature light water sprays, cooling winds, and blasts of air that will have film lovers feeling a million miles away from the soaring temperatures outside.
So, if you’re looking for some extra space, you can enjoy Space Jam 2 with neighbouring seats blocked, or if you’re seeking an escape from the heat, you can watch Escape Room 2 in full air-con. Whatever movie you choose, Cineworld is ready to offer the best guest experience this summer.
