A ‘MIND-BLOWING’ new ninja park is coming to Bolton – and it should be open in time for Christmas.

BeNINJA will offer children, teenagers and adults the chance to test their skill, strength and agility at a specially designed obstacle course.

The attraction, the first of its kind in the town, will be situated at Trinity Retail Park, just off St Peter’s Way.

Manager Kieron Marsh says he is excited about bringing the BeNINJA experience to Bolton – and expects the park to open in late November or early December ‘ready for Christmas’.

He said: “It’s going to be an absolutely fantastic park, right next to Jump Xtreme.

The Bolton News:

“It’s what I would call a ninja warrior park, built up of all different obstacle courses suitable for children from the age of five right up through to adults.

“Like any assault course there will be battle booms, swinging doors, roller logs, air bags, pull out walls, jungle swings and cargo mats.”

Mr Marsh continued: “It’s definitely something new for Bolton. When it’s done it’s going to blow people’s minds away. We’ve put a lot of effort into it.”

The park will boast a total of 25 obstacles to test all abilities and ages.

Mr Marsh hopes the park will become a ‘must-book’ for everything from children’s birthday parties, to corporate events, team-building exercises and stag-dos.

And he says the park also intends to appeal to Bolton’s student population.

He said: "We are going to target a lot of students. Trampoline parks are mainly for kids, but we are going to target every age group.”

The course allows fun-seekers to test themselves against the various obstacles and can also bring out a person's competitive side. And there will also be 'massive interaction' with park staff racing together against the kids.”

As well as offering a fun way to exercise and stay fit, BeNINJA also puts a strong emphasis on healthy eating.

“When they come off the park, instead of chicken nuggets and chips they are going for ninja fuel boxes,” said Mr Marsh.

The boxes come with a selection of vegetables and healthy sides to get youngsters making their own choices and thinking about their diet more.”

The BeNINJA concept is the brainchild of its managing director David Dalton.

He says it is a more family-centred and less ‘elitist’ counterpart to its Innovation Leisure stablemate, Total Ninja, based in Stretford.

The dad-of-two, who moved to Rivington in 2012 and now sees Bolton as his home.

He said: “BeNINJA is my vision and my ideas.

“My background is in insurance and energy measures, I just thought I could do a better version of what I was used to going to with my children – and this is where I have ended up.

“I think it’s something a bit more aspirational than trampolining, which I find a bit monotonous. The whole family can come – a teenager can have a race with his dad. It’s a broader audience we can target, that’s the biggest thing for me.

“It’s really positive. I moved to Bolton in 2012 and I think there’s a really big need for this sort of thing, getting the family interacting more and getting healthy.

“We have an issue with children having a lack of facilities to use and this is me giving something back for kids. It’s good family fun, healthy and good exercise. It’s really needed and it’s great for Bolton.

Mr Dalton adds that the attraction will also feature an area where non-participants can relax, 'sit and have a nice coffee and enjoy the experience'.

The ninja-themed park will also create between 30 and 40 new jobs to Bolton, from management, sales and supervisor posts, to hospitality, cafe assistants and 'ninja senseis' – and Mr Dalton says he wants to it play its part in the town's resurgence.

He said: “The unit we’re moving into has been unoccupied for several years and we’re bringing it back to life. There’s a lot of money being spent in Bolton and we want to be a part of it and help regenerate the area.

“It’s a great, busy town. Everyone seems to concentrate on Manchester but Bolton deserves this facility and let’s hope that people come out and use it.

“It’s nice to see money being spent in Bolton. It did need regenerating and hopefully this will add to it.”
