Harrogate gets set to celebrate harvest with a giant autumn festival of gardening. Preparations are well underway for the UK’s premier autumn gardening festival. We have teamed up with the organisers of the event to promote their competition to give five lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to attend the show.
The Harrogate Autumn Flower Show takes place 14 -16 September offering thousands of gardeners the chance to celebrate this year’s successes and look forward to the new 2013 growing season.
Staged at the Great Yorkshire Showground, the show welcomes back the famous battle of the giants as colossal cabbages, magnificent marrows and tremendous tomatoes weigh in for the giant vegetable competition. The National Onion Championship, featuring a bid to break last year’s world beating record for the globe’s heaviest onion, also takes place during the event.
The Autumn flower show provides a great opportunity to plan your perfect garden for 2013 with inspiration, plants and products to suit every space and every pocket. Beautiful show garden borders, bring ideas from the designer to your doorstep, while nearly 100 leading nurseries create wonderful displays of plants, bulbs and seeds
Expert teams from Kitchen Garden Live, the Garden Roadshow and the Garden Advice Bureau will be on hand to provide advice and entertainment with talks, demonstrations and one-to-one discussions on growing everything from herbs to hostas, as well as answering all the tricky gardening conundrums that cropped up this year. This really is the perfect day out for all garden lovers!
