At last, Herr Blatter is on the right lines
HALLELUJAH! This time next year goal-line technology could be in use in the Premier League.
After refusing to budge on the issue for years and appearing to have rejected it once and for all in March 2010, FIFA boss Sepp Blatter has finally seen sense and the International Football Association Board will rule next March on whether to give the go-ahead.
And if it gets the green light then Blatter sees no reason why leagues can’t adopt it from the start of the 2012-13 season and there is every likelihood of it being in use at the 2014 World Cup.
It seems Blatter had a change of heart after Frank Lampard’s “goal”
was disallowed in England’s controversial World Cup defeat by Germany last summer.
It was heartbreaking at the time, but history will show that it was a watershed in bringing football into the technological age.
I never thought I’d say it but good shot Lamps.
