In the dark days before 1939 as war loomed in Europe the Coronation of King George VI in 1937 provided an excuse for Coronation day street parties which provided a happy diversion for many in the country including these folk in Centre Street, Brownlow Fold.
They certainly went a big deal on bunting in those days.
