TRAFFIC officers want to speak to a driver whom they believe was involved in a six-car crash on the M60 but failed to stop.
The incident happened shortly before 2pm on Sunday. Two lanes of the carriageway were closed for two hours between junctions 12 and 13 near Worsley.
An eight-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released later that day. A 25-year-old woman was rushed to Hope Hospital, where she is in a serious condition.
A police spokesman said: "It is believed a dark saloon car, possibly a Ford Mondeo, was involved in a collision and failed to stop at the scene. It may well be that the driver is unaware the collision had even happened, and officers are appealing to the driver of this car to contact them."
Anybody with information should contact the motorway unit on 0161 856 8361.
