THE annual interleague battle saw Bolton’s Over-45s taking the honours by 153-94 over Bury at Little Lever Cricket Club.
The home team batted first and the crowd watched in dismay as first batter Jane Trevitt was bowled out first base, closely followed by Margaret Smith, Maria Kirkman and Jackie Carter. Bolton recovered to score 44, with Sarah Gradwell and Barbara Gillet hitting 12 runs each.
A satisfied Bury team then went in to bat, but with the assistance of some top class bowling from Bolton, they were dismissed for just 34.
Top scorer was Sharon Warren on nine.
Both teams batted much better in the second innings, but Bury were no match for Bolton as the home team scored 109, ably assisted by Margaret Smith (24), Helen Yorke (23) and Barbara Gillet (18).
Bury were chasing 120 points just to equalise with Bolton, and once again, some great fielding from the home side meant that Bury’s score was kept to just 60.
The next Interleague match is between the Juniors on Friday at Bolton Cricket Club, Green Lane.
The Bolton squad is: Jenna Allison (capt), Jenny Fairclough, Hannah Paisley, Codie Brooks, Chloe Bickerstaffe, Beth Hodgkiss, Nicola Mitchell-Yorke, Helen Lewarm, Mim Dargan, Lucy Mills, Charlotte Knox, Paige Taylor, Emma Knee, Olivia Hill, Laura Glynn.
