Horwich RMI Harriers duo Laura Taylor and Natassia Dacre became county champions when they won Greater Manchester and Lancashire Championships titles.
Laura won the under-15s 75m hurdles at the Lancashire Championships in Blackpool, while Natassia won the U15s javelin at the GM Championships Despite hitting three hurdles, Laura still powered through to win her title in strong winds with a time of 12.40 seconds and followed up with a bronze medal in the 100m in a personal best time.
Natassia threw a tremendous 31.73 metres to take gold and gain a grade one ranking with a lifetime best performances.
In the Lancashire Championships, Horwich Harriers’ Sophie Williams won the silver medal in the U15s javelin, and in the senior men, Gary Priestly took bronze with a solid run in the 1500m.
Jonah Saunders took silver in the U13s boys’ javelin with a personal best 23.99m to break the club record, and he came third in the discus inthe GM Championships Ellie Dacre took silver in the U13s girls javelin and bronze in the shot putt.
There were also excellent performances from Amy Philpotts who took silver in the U20s 200m and 400m races, while Ola Abidogan took silver in the U20s 100m and bronze in the 200m, and Mike Houghton won silver in the senior men’s long jump with 5.58m.
