A CONVICT who was jailed for life for attempted murder, is still on the run today.
Christopher McDonagh, aged 19, from Cheetham Hill, fled from Hope Hospital in Salford where he was being treated for a wound to his arm on Monday.
He was sentenced to life in December, 2005, for the attempted murder of a female friend and had been in custody in a secure unit at Prestwich Hospital.
McDonagh is the second patient from the unit at Prestwich to escape custody in less than six weeks.
An 18-year-old inmate escaped over a wall at Prestwich Hospital on July 22. He had been at the hospital on remand for two counts of robbery and spent more than two weeks on the run before being re-arrested in Salford.
McDonagh is about 5ft 6in tall and of medium build with black shaven hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a navy blue woollen hat, black woollen jumper, blue tracksuit bottoms and white and blue Nike trainers.
Police believe McDonagh may be a danger to himself and to others.
