LEADERS Elton Vale maintained their unbeaten record in the Farnworth Winter Rounders League as they beat The Grapes A by 19 runs.
The table-toppers, who were 22 ahead at the interval, maintained their four-point lead at the top of the table. The Grapes are eight points behind in fourth place having lost both their matches in 2011. Wally’s Eleven enjoyed a 31-run win over BabyGuds Kubs to stay second, while BabyGuds moved up to third after their narrow three-run victory over bottom club Kearsley.
The resurgent Adlington won their second consecutive match, beating fellow strugglers Capital Catering by eight runs to move above them in the table.
Division Two was reduced to just two games on Sunday because Aura Ladies failed to raise a team and conceded to leaders, The New Inn, while the withdrawal of CRS left bottom side Contract Services without a game.
The unbeaten New Inn remain two points ahead of Bank Top Brewery, who lost narrowly to AJs.
The rain-soaked scoresheet made it difficult to assess the final score, but the teams did agree that AJs had won.
The youngsters of The Grapes C proved no match for Hulton Lane Ladies who won their encounter by an innings.
Redgate beat Westside XI to leave four teams sharing top spot at the midway point of the Eagley Winter League.
BB Belles and Divas enjoyed comfortable victories against teams from the bottom half of the table, BB Belles defeating Astley Bridge Ladies by 59 runs and Divas beating Eagley Pike by 48.
Care Staff Solutions overpowered HiQ FAbs by 73 runs to leave them joint bottom with Astley Bridge Ladies and Eagley Pike on four points.
