BOLTON'S brightest young musicians rocked the town.
Four local bands, along with the winners of Rock School, a community scheme run for youngsters in Halliwell throughout July, proved they were rock gods in the making at the Phoenix Centre on Bark Street.
Playing to a packed-out venue did not deter the young musicians - and organisers had to turn people away from the 120 people capacity venue.
Mindee Hutchinson, Bolton Council's representative on the showcase committee, said: "This will liven up the music scene in Bolton. The musicians are out there, but they just need more events like this to show off their talent.
"It has been fantastic, and brilliant for the bands - many of who have members under 18 - to have a venue to play in before they can hit the bar scene. This is about the live music scene coming together."
The local bands performing included Cardinal Saviour, Last Chance, Aloner and The Endorphins.
