DETECTIVES have revealed a new lead in the search for the parents of a dead baby.
A week on from the discovery of the girl in a front garden in Tinline Street, Bury, detectives are still trying to trace her parents.
Police named the baby Aliyah.
Officers today said an Asian couple were spotted standing in the front garden of the house next door on the morning Aliyah was found.
A Bury Police spokesman said: "Officers want to trace a couple who were seen close to the spot where she was found shortly before Aliyah was discovered and appeal to her father or anyone with information about him to come forward.
"The couple, who are Asian, were seen standing in the front garden of the next door house at about 10.40am. They were believed to be looking at the spot where Aliyah was found.
"The woman had long black hair in a ponytail and was wearing Asian-style clothing with a black cardigan and a scarf over the shoulders. She was in her 20s or 30s and of average build. The man had short dark hair with an average build and dark clothing. "
