LINDA CHATBURN writes.....
There is a reunion being planned by ex-pupils and staff of the former Darwen Secondary Technical School.
Not only children y from the Darwen area attended the school, but because of the way education was organised in Lancashire at that time pupils also came from parts of the Ribble Valley, the Accrington area, the outskirts of Chorley, and the villages around Bolton.
The school was open from the 1940s to the early 1970s when education was reorganised in the area.
The reunion is on Saturday, October 16, at the Old England Kiosk in Sunnyhurst Wood, Darwen, from 7.30pm to midnight.
There will be a buffet, music and dancing, and a chance to renew old friendships.
This is the sixth reunion since the first one 12 years ago, and numbers are restricted, but husbands, wives and partners are welcome.
Tickets, on a first come, first served basis are £15 each, and are on sale now from the Old England Kiosk, Darwen Town Hall, or by telephoning 01254 701375.
If you want any more information please give me a call on 01254 701926, or email.
