TENNIS: Lancashire kick-started their AEGON Cup recording their first victory of the tournement.
Local doubles duo, Andrew Davies (Bury) and Simon Roberts (Bolton) were in impressive form, recording three of Lancashire’s six wins as they defeated Warwickshire 6-3. Robert Morgan (Bolton) was also in action but failed to record a win.
And going into the final set of fixtures, vice-captain Davies hopes the team can end the tournement on a high.
“Today we won 6-3 which gives us a fighting chance to go into the last day. There’s still a lot to play for, our team are fit and healthy so we’ll all be up for it and try and put in a good performance tomorrow.”
Lancashire face North of Scotland later today.
