THE annual Bolton Tennis Tournament gets under way at the Bolton School courts tonight.
Hundreds of competitors will compete in the 20 events, which include men’s and women’s singles and doubles, junior categories and handicapped events which give players of all standards a chance to win.
Tonight’s programme, which starts at 6pm and will be staged on 18 courts, sees the first matches in the men’s singles, men’s handicap singles, the handicap mixed doubles, the veteran handicap mixed doubles, the under 14 and under 18 boys’ singles, men’s doubles and handicap ladies doubles.
Play will take place every day up to the finals on Saturday, July 17, starting at 1pm on weekends and at 6pm on weekday evenings.
All matches will take place at the Bolton School courts, unless rain intervenes, in which case matches may be transferred to Bolton Arena or David Lloyd indoor facilities or to all weather courts at Markland Hill and Lostock Tennis Clubs.
