Blackburn and Bolton fans will be going head to head this summer as they do battle on the golf course in the second annual pro:fantastic Golf Challenge.

Wearing customized golf shirts in their team colours and captained by a club legend, the rivals have more at stake than just bragging rights in the Sky Sports televised event at Pleasington Golf Club on Monday August 23rd – a place in the grand final at a top European golf resort is up for grabs too. Following a successful launch last year the pro:fantastic Golf Challenge is back. Fans of rival football clubs go head to head in the UK heats with the winning two ball from each set of fans progressing to the Grand Final where the club legend joins the team!

Blackburn’s former Scottish international Kevin Gallacher and Bolton legend Andy Walker are just two of the keen golfing ex-pros who have already signed up to this unique event and will be captaining the sides in theheat before dusting off their clubs for the final.

Gallacher, who made over 140 league appearances for Rovers, is delighted to be captaining the Blackburn fans and enthused: “It’s a superb idea; I’m very much looking forward to it and proud to be taking part.” Andy Walker, who enjoyed a prolific spell with Bolton scoring 44 goals in just 67 league games, added: “The concept is wonderful; supporters playing golf in team colours, in a televised British championship – brilliant.”

Fans from a total of 17 English and Scottish teams will be playing and some of the biggest names in the clubs’ recent histories have thrown their weight behind the event.

Places in the event are limited and cost just £75 plus vat per person and can be booked by calling Profantastic on 01698429429 or long on to sitingww.profantasticgolf.com.
