OWEN Coyle is poised to raid his former club in a bid to sign Burnley’s Wade Elliott.

The Wanderers manager is set to table a £750,000 offer for the midfielder.

Elliott, aged 31, scored his fourth goal of the season in the relegated Clarets’ 4-2 victory over Tottenham on Sunday.

And Coyle will waste little time in making a move for the former Bournemouth wideman, who is desperate to stay in the Premier League.

Forgotten man Ricardo Vaz Te has been released by Wanderers.

The Portugese forward has not been offered a new deal after seven injury-plagued seasons at the Reebok.

Vaz Te made just 59 appearances, including just 19 starts, since arriving from Farense in August 2003.

The 23-year-old has not played for the first team under Owen Coyle and has not featured at all since coming off the bench against Manchester United at Old Trafford in September 2008.

After bursting onto the scene as a teenager, Vaz Te’s Wanderers career has been plagued with injuries and he has again struggled this season as he looked to recover from a serious knee problem.

Striker Zoltan Harsanyi has also been shown the door. The 22-year-old Slovakian, who arrived in a joint deal with Lubo Michalik, now at Leeds, from FC Senec, has never appeared for the first team in three and a half seasons with the club. Youngster Stuart McDonald and Sam Stokes have also been released. But Aaron Mooy and Michael O’Halloran have been offered professional contracts, while Sam Sheridan has agreed a one-year extension to his existing deal.

Danny Shittu is expecting to join Kayserispor this week on a free transfer after agreeing a lucrative two-year deal.

The 29-year-old defender was in Turkey last week and is reported to have been offered a £1million-a-year contract. Bristol City, Portsmouth and Newcastle were also keen to sign the Nigerian.
