CHRISTINE CARL of Wakefield, West Yorkshire (formerly Bolton) says: I am searching for relatives of Thomas and Edith Murphy (my grandparents) as I am researching my family tree.
My grandmother’s maiden name was Alga, r and I am almost certain to have relatives still living in Bolton from both her and my grandfather’s side.
They lived in the Halliwell/Merehall Park area of the town and my grandpa’s father John Murphy was licensee of the Brown Cow public house on Bradshawgate, he was also a Town Councillor at one time.
If anyone has come across these names while doing similar research I would be pleased if they would contact me.
