CAMPAIGNERS who want to see a hung parliament in the General Election came to Bolton to promote their case.
A mobile advert was driven around the town and campaigners with placards told people about their cause.
They want a hung parliament — where no political party has an overall majority — in the hope it will lead to a reform in the voting system.
Members of Vote for a Change and Unlock Democracy visited the town on Saturday as the mobile advert tours the country targeting marginal seats.
Michael Calderbank, from Vote for a Change, said: “You have to fight to gain power and change the system, but it entrenches power and parties stick with it because it helps them stay in control.
“A hung parliament would mean no one party would have all the power and would help lead to an alternative voting system, which would be much more democratic.”
Today, the group is launching a website which will inform people how to vote in each constituency to maximise the chance of a hung parliament.
