DANNY MITCHELL writes I am trying to find anyone who new my grandad during his time at Foggia Air Base, Italy.
Sgt Harry Mitchell 1897111 from Barking, Essex, served with 104 squadron from March 16, 1944, and then 614 squadron from May 24, 1944.
He died on August 14, 1944, while flying back to Foggia from Catania, Sicily.
The crew were F/O Sanderson, P/O Homes, F/Sgt Anderson, Sgt Mitchell, F/Sgt Hodges and F/Sgt O'connor.
Normally David Nestle was in their crew but not on that day.
Halifax JN 912 was the plane.
I would appreciate any help.
