MANY town centre bus services will be affected by road closures when the traditional Bury Carnival takes place on Saturday.
The closure of Wellington Road, Market Street, Haymarket Street, Silver Street and the partial closure of Knowlsey Street, means that bus access to Bury Interchange won't be possible between 10.30am and approximately noon.
Instead, services will terminate and depart from three temporary stops: Services heading to and from Manchester and Radcliffe will depart from and terminate at the junction of Knowsley Road and Manchester Road.
Services heading to and from Heywood and Rochdale will depart from and terminate on George Street, next to the ASDA supermarket.
The 472 and 474 services to and from Ramsbottom will depart from and terminate outside Wilkinson's store along The Rock.
Bus users can check their services before travelling by calling Traveline on 0870 608 2 608. Lines are open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm at weekends. Textphone users should ring 0870 241 2216.
