HOLIDAY INN wants to expand its Horwich hotel by adding a 50-bedroom extension.
Hotel chiefs are also planning to extend the car park at the Holiday Inn Express on Arena Approach, near to the Reebok Stadium.
There would be 28 more parking spaces.
An application has been lodged with Bolton Council's planning department by parent company, Mitchells & Butlers Retail Ltd.
The hotel at present has 75 bedrooms.
