THE children are off school, and you are off work. Are the cries of “Mum, I’m BORED!” already resounding around your house?

If your youngsters need to blow off some steam you need look no further than our top ten suggestions.

From rollercoasters to art to cuddly animals, there is something for everyone.

1. Park Fold Farm/Smithills Open Farm Park Fold Farm in Bradshaw is offering an Easter Eggstravaganza weekend on April 2, 3 and 4. There is an Easter egg hunt aimed at both preschool and older children, which costs £1 per entry.

If your little ones love animals, they can also see, and pet, a variety of baby creatures at the farm. You might also like to visit Smithills Open Farm Park, which is open all through the Easter break.

2. Easter Egg Hunt The Easter bunny has hidden eggs all around Moss Bank Park in Smithills, and wants your youngsters to help find them.

The hunt begins at 1.30pm tomorrow from Animal World, and is ideal for pre-school kids and their families.

3. Smithills Hall Victorian Week On Easter Sunday, youngsters can experience life as a Victorian child at Smithills Hall.

They can see what it’s like to work in a Victorian school room, and see what life was like as a Victorian servant. The event kicks off at 12pm, and access is free for children.

4. Rivington Pike Get your children out in to the fresh air for a traditional Easter walk in Rivington. Take a stroll around the terraced gardens, or push yourself a little further and make your way to the top of the historical pike, topping off your day out with a quiet cuppa in The Barn on your descent.

5. Camelot You can have a magical time at nearby Camelot Theme Park.

With exciting rides, jousting knights, and even a children’s farm, there’s something for all the family.

The gates open at 10am every day, and a family ticket for four costs just £68.

6. Go Ape Let your little monkeys blow off steam at Rivington’s treetop attraction, Go Ape, where you can spend an energetic few hours bounding through the branches. Open to children aged 10 or over, children’s tickets are £20 each.

7. Bolton Museum Bolton museum and children’s library is offering free art activitiesover the Easter holidays, including a family picture trail, craft sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and a competition to win a free painting set.

8. Hall i’th’ Wood Museum If you miss out on hunting for eggs on Easter weekend, don’t worry. Children can join in with an Easter egg hunt and egg painting at one of Bolton’s most historical buildings on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10. A family ticket costs £5.

9. Bolton Wanderers Bolton Wanderers Junior Whites are hosting an Easter Funday on April 9. The fun packed day, which will include lunch and bowling, among other activities, will cost £15 and lasts from 9am to 3pm. Children aged between 5 and 11 are welcome, but you must book to avoid disappointment.

10. Turton Tower Treat your youngsters to a helping of local history this Easter, and take them to the Grade One listed Turton Tower.

The tower, tea room and gift shop is open every day except Mondays and Tuesdays.
