WALKDEN'S Jamie Moore warms up for the biggest fight of his career when he takes on Ukrainian Vladimir Borovski in London on Friday.
The British light-middleweight champion is lined up to meet Colombian Juan Carlos Candelo in the USA, but aims to keep sharp by making his debut with his new promoter Frank Maloney in Dagenham.
The seasoned southpaw hopes the fight against Borovski will be ideal preparation for his big night, in a schedule which could see him fight eight times in two years.
Maloney said: "Jamie is a big part of our push onto the world stage and we plan on having him challenge for the European title within six to nine months."
The fight ends a frustrating spell for Moore, a stablemate of Amir Khan at Oliver Harrison's Salford gym.
He was due to fight the tough Candelo last week, but his opponent was not ready and the fight put back to March.
Moore is thankful he can burn some of his aggression up with the rescheduled fight.
He said: "My new promoter Frank Maloney offered to put me on his show on a 10 rounder so that my training did not go to waste.
"I am looking forward to fighting in America as my opponent has been in there with the best and only been stopped once.
"But I feel I can beat anybody they put in front of me. I can do a job on Candelo.
"It is a real make or break chance for me as I will be fighting on the ESPN channel which is watched by an audience of millions.
"I am confident I can beat him. I will be going out to do a number on him, stop him and make a good impression. It will raise my profile.
"I am 27, at my peak and in the form of my life, but the European title is the one I want.
"I expect to have a shot at the title this year."
