POLICE on Monday are continuing to hunt for the driver of a car which was being driven "extremely fast" when it hit and killed a 45-year-old woman in Bolton.
The incident happened near the Rumworth pub, Wigan Road, Deane, at about 3am on Saturday morning.
The victim has been named as Laura Entwistle, a mother of two, who lived locally.
Det Insp Sara Wallwork urged anyone who witnessed the "tragic incident" to contact Greater Manchester Police.
"We do not have a very good description of the car, as we believe it was travelling extremely fast, but we are looking for a car which would have extensive damage to the front. It is also likely to have a smashed windscreen," she said.
"I would particularly appeal to any scrap yards or car fitters, who may be approached to fix a car of this description to please contact us immediately."
Anyone with any information should contact Leigh Road Police Unit on 0161 856 7273.
