COUNCIL tax demands are still being sent to a woman who died a year ago.
Bolton Council is adamant Annie Flitcroft owes them £215.
And the council has been bombarding Mrs Flitcroft's daughter, Gillian Barnett, with payment demands.
Mrs Barnett, aged 46, sold her mother's house in Florence Avenue, Astley Bridge, in September.
The council tax demand is dated for between June and December, even though the home was vacant and unfurnished during that time and was exempt from payment.
Mrs Barnett said council staff refuse to take notice of her many letters and telephone calls and she is becoming sick with stress because of it.
"Why they aren't sending council tax demands to the new owners is a mystery to me," she said.
"I was mum's executor and understand it's not always simple to clear matters up, but this is ridiculous."
Mrs Barnett lives in Stoke-on-Trent with her husband Andrew, but was brought up in the house in Astley Bridge before moving from Bolton in 1986.
"Every time I call they tell me to ignore the bill and that it was generated by a computer error," she said. "They have also said they've not had all the details they need, but that is nonsense."
A council spokesman said: "There seems to have been a misunderstanding in the correspondence which has followed the sale of this property and we still do not have all the details we require to deal with the matter.
"We are continuing our efforts to sort things out as quickly as possible and we hope to resolve the issue shortly.
