SHOWBIZ couple Tess Daly and Vernon Kay are to co-present a new TV celebrity singing show.
Just The Two Of Us starts next month on BBC1 and will pair celebrities with top singers.
After they sing duets, viewers will vote on their favourite performances in a format similar to Strictly Come Dancing, which was co-hosted by Tess.
It is the first time Vernon, from Lostock, and his wife have worked together and they are both looking forward to it.
"We've never worked together before not intentionally, it's just never happened," said Vernon.
"It's going to be incredible and, as it's going out live, Tess and I are really excited."
The show will feature a different musical style every week from rock to romance, and jazz to country.
The celebrities and their singing partners will perform favourite songs from across the decades in a bid to win the votes of the public and a judging panel.
Vernon said: "Viewers will be separated into five regions Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, northern England and southern England.
"They can vote for their favourite double act each week via phone and text.
"Each week, the duo with the least number of votes will leave the show."
Tess, from Stockport, is fresh from her success as Bruce Forsythe's right-hand lady on Strictly Come Dancing.
"It was such a success that I'm thrilled Vernon and I have been asked to host its successor," she said.
"It's great to be getting right back to the glitz and glamour of a live music show and I'm really looking forward to working with someone I know so well."
Vernon and Tess, who have a one-year-old daughter, Phoebe, shunned the limelight when they married at St James Church in Horwich, and held their reception at Rivington Barn.
Vernon also hosts the popular T4 television programme on Sundays as well as presenting his Radio 1 weekend show.
He said: "I'm so excited about working on such a great format with so many stars performing and I'm chuffed to be presenting with such a beautiful co-host!"
The new show's producer, Karen Smith, said: "I'm delighted Vernon and Tess will be at the helm of what promises to be one of the biggest shows of the year."
l Just The Two Of Us will be shown on BBC1 during February and March. The singers, their celebrity partners and the judging panel have yet to be announced.
