AN authoritative new survey has revealed that fish4jobs, the recruitment website that is part owned by the Bolton Evening News, attracts more jobseekers than any other online jobs site in the UK with moer than 1.6 million people visiting per month.

The NORAS 2006 survey (National Online Recruitment Audience Survey) also shows that fish4jobs is attracting more users from all walks of life and job types.

Website, fish4jobs.co.uk, which carries more than 40,000 job adverts at any one time, powers the "jobs search" section on www.boltoneveningnews.co.uk, The Bolton Evening News' official website.

Job vacancies advertised come from all industry sectors, but fish4 particularly specialises in the following areas - retail, sales, engineering, customer service, call centre, construction, driving and IT.

Fish4jobs puts its success down to being a big nationwide brand that thinks and acts locally. This means that because it carries more jobs across all parts of the country than anyone else, readers and internet users in the Bolton area can access hundreds of local vacancies simply by logging onto www.boltoneveningnews.co.uk

Sean Mahon, fish4's Marketing Director, said: "Many other generalist internet job sites tend to carry a heavy weighting of jobs for London and the South East of England.

"At fish4jobs we pride ourselves on carrying a multitude of vacancies all over the UK. Our local strength is reflected by the increases in the amount of jobseekers that are searching for jobs on fish4 from all over the country, from big cities to rural areas. Also more and more candidates are registering their CV with us so that recruiters can find them.'

The NORAS research also reveals the growing popularity of the internet as a medium of choice for everyday people who are job-hunting.

For example, reflecting the changing employment landscape in the UK, 19 per cent of job seekers are using fish4jobs to find a part-time job. Sixty per cent of those on fish4jobs are female and sixty-one per cent of users are aged between 16 and 34-years-old.

Steve Hughes, editor of the Bolton Evening News, said: "Our research shows that our readers are increasingly using our website in conjunction with fish4jobs; making our website the first port of call when looking for new, local positions.s is one way of ensuring that we do."
