JUSSI Jaaskelainen is close to resolving his contract dispute.
Sam Allardyce, who feared the club had reached a stalemate with his keeper, has confirmed that talks have resumed and are going well.
"It is not settled yet, but we are still talking and want the matter settled sooner rather than later," the manager said.
"I am very confident about the outcome."
Jaaskelainen, Wanderers' longest serving player, was expected to sign a new three-year deal last summer. But it later emerged that he was stalling over a specific clause in the contract, which was believed to relate to the structure of certain payments.
With his current deal having just one more season to run, the impasse led Allardyce to suggest he may be sold.
But the 30-year-old Finn, currently regarded by some as the best keeper in the Premiership, appears to be set to secure his long term Reebok future.
"He has always been very comfortable at the club and always enjoyed his football here," Allardyce added.
