TURTON and Edgworth CE Methodist Primary School has received a glowing report from inspectors.
The school has been described as "outstanding" and awarded a Grade 1 report - the highest possible - after an evaluation by Ofsted.
Inspectors praised its "high quality of education in a positive atmosphere" following the inspection on December 7.
Teachers were told that improvements could be made by making sure pupils achieved at all subjects as well as they did at English, maths and science.
Headteacher Stewart Plowes said: "We know there are some things that we do very well, but to be praised so comprehensively is very pleasing."
