MORE than 25,000 runners have enrolled for this summer's BUPA 10K Great Manchester Run - within two weeks of registration being opened.
Race Director Charlie Mussett said demand for the race - now in its fourth year - had been "amazing".
The race is organised by Manchester City Council and Nova International event organisers.
It is part of the council's festival of sport, which includes the National Badminton Championships and the National Squash Championships in February, The Visa Paralympic World Cup in May and the Norwich Union European Trials and AAA Championships in July.
