A NEW campaign to boost safety for bikers has been launched in Little Hulton and Worsley.
New road signs are being put up around the Salford Council area for the first time this week to help put the brake on the number of crashes involving motorcyclists.
The yellow signs carry a hard-hitting message to car drivers to encourage them to 'Think twice - think bike' Other signs aimed at bikers carry the message: 'To die for - think road safety'.
The city's crash statistics show that while the numbers of other types of road collisions are falling, collisions involving motorcyclists are not.
There were 469 collisions in the borough involving motorcycles between April, 2000, and November, 2005, eight of which were fatal.
