A CHARITY boss has agreed to take part in a firewalk in a bid to gain support for people with autism.
Paul King, chief executive of the Autistic Society in Greater Manchester (ASGMA), said he would 'walk over hot coals' for people affected by autism and asperger syndrome.
But he did not expect his comments to be taken literally and was challenged to take part in the fire walk by his own wife, Karen, on Christmas Day.
Luckily, he accepted the challenge and will be travelling to Leeds on March 11, to walk across burning coals.
He said: "I only hope the pain will be worth the gain of raising funds and creating greater awareness of the affects of autism on individuals and families - if this all goes wrong, ASGMA might be looking for a new chief executive on March 12."
If anyone can sponsor Paul or support the work of the society, they can call 0161 866 8483, email chiefexec@asgma.org.uk or log onto www.asgma.org.uk where donations can be made online.
