TWO men have been given a total of six-and-a-half years in prison for drug and firearm offences, after police stopped their car in Prestwich.
Phillip Fisher (23), of Swinton, was arrested in April last year after his car was stopped in Scholes Lane. Officers discovered he was disqualified from driving. Officers then discovered a ten inch knife, a quantity of counterfeit notes, 2kg of amphetamines and a pistol in the car. At Bolton Crown Court, he was convicted of possessing a class B drug with intent to supply, possession of a loaded air weapon, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of counterfeit currency and driving while disqualified and without insurance. He was sentenced to three-and-a-half years.
David Palmer-Smith (27), of Torquay, pleaded guilty to possessing a class B drug with intent to supply, possession of a bladed article, possession of a firearm, and possession of counterfeit currency. He was given three years.
