LUXURY items such as plasma and LCD televisions are amongst the most sort after items - by burglars.
Police say thieves have been looking at homes across the borough for such items.
During the past three months, 35 Plasma/LCDs have been stolen from homes across the borough, but mainly in Prestwich.
Bury police crime reduction adviser Gaynor Mason said: "Anyone owning or about to buy a plasma TV or LCD screen should consider where it will be placed in the home.
"Often they are fixed to walls and can easily be seen by passers-by and this makes it easy for thieves to identify and target that property.
"You should also ensure you have the make, model and serial number recorded and consider marking the property with postcode and house number and entering it onto the immobilise database at www.immobilise.com."
Police say the thieves are travelling into Bury from outside the borough in search of rich pickings.
Inspector Bill Mundy said: "If the public see any suspicious vehicles or persons, they should contact the police immediately".
