BURY bus services are among those facing major route changes in and out of Manchester city centre with the opening of the new £28 million transport interchange at Shudehill on Sunday.
The opening means that parts of Corporation Street and Cross Street being closed between 11am and 7pm. To help passengers to become acquainted with the new city centre routes and associated changes to bus stops and Shudehill departure points, bus operators First has produced customer information leaflets.
Locally, the changes will affect the 90 service Stubbins-Manchester via Bury; 93, 98, 137/138 and 163 services Bury-Manchester and the 524 service Bury-Bolton.
The Shudehill interchange has a state-of-the-art bus station, a Metrolink tram stop and a car park for 777 vehicles and has been developed by the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive with funding from Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority, Manchester City Council, Richardson Developments and the European Union.
Revised timetables will be available from GMPTE Travelshops, with Traveline information available on 08706 082608 (7am-8pm Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm at weekends) .
