A man who injured his leg in a motorbike accident more than four months ago is selling the shorts he was wearing to raise money for charity.
Ben Lomax (29) was attempting to perform motorbike stunts in a field in September, when the bike fell onto him, causing a serious leg injury.
An off-duty anaesthetist saw what had happened, and cut Mr Lomax's clothes to help treat him until an ambulance arrived to take him to Fairfield Hospital.
Mr Lomax, of Alder Close, Bury, had forgotten about the shorts he was wearing until he found them in a sports bag a few weeks ago.
He said: "I put the shorts in a bag after the accident and found them recently, so I decided it would be a good idea to sell them on the eBay website.
"I would have liked to keep them as a memento of the accident, but my girlfriend Caroline thinks they smell too much. They still have blood on them and haven't been washed since the accident.
"I don't know who would want to buy them. It doesn't matter as long as I can raise some money for charity."
The auction on internet website eBay was due to finish this morning, and at the time of going to press, a bid of £2.20 had been made for the shorts.
All money raised will be given to Cancer Research UK.
