IT'S 'pip-pip' hooray for a Bury-based building and civil engineering contractors.
For Cheetham Hill Construction of Woodhill Road are among the winners in the latest National Green Apple Environment Awards.
The firm scooped national bronze in the building and construction category. Winners were presented with their trophies at the House of Commons and among the guests was Bury North MP David Chaytor who supported the local firm.
Commenting on Cheetham Hill Construction, the judges said: "This company was best known for its work in earth moving and construction of landfill sites. But they have made a conscious decision to 'green up' and target contracts that make a positive contribution to the environment.
"The whole business ethos has been changed and their work now involves waterways pollution remediation, cleaning up contaminated sites and creating wildlife habitats."
