THERE was a real lack of thought about the way we played and the players did just what they wanted to do.

They didn't stick to the gameplan and, basically, our decision-making was dreadful.

At the end of the day Boston are a decent team but they have not really had to work as hard as they possibly could because the goals were absolutely farcical.

We never defended up front or in midfield and didn't win our second balls, they hit us on the break too easily and turned us too easily and if you let that happen you are always going to concede goals and get beaten.

Also our cutting edge was poor and there's no excuse for it. I spoke to the lads after the game and said I needed some feedback but nothing was forthcoming.

We have to learn from this, absorb it and take it on the chin and if players get left out then so be it.

You just have to carry on and stick with your own beliefs, we need players who are going to turn up and put in consistent performances.

We gave ourselves a decent chance in the second half and at 2-1 we were still in it without playing anything like we can do.

But we never did the basics right and our set-piece plays were dreadful and you really have to take advantage of those situations.

Too often we tried to overplay on what was a poor pitch and you can't do that.

It's horses for courses and you need to play to the conditions and in the right areas and we didn't do that in the last third of the field.
