A GRANT of almost £1,500 has been awarded to the Bolton Mental Health Independent Support Team to set up a rounders team.
The charity, based in Chorley New Road, helps people with mental illnesses. It applied for the cash from the Primary Care Trust-led Health for Bolton fund.
Its team, which has a squad of 30 players, meets every two weeks for training.
The youngest member is 16 and the eldest 58.
The cash will be used to pay for a team strip, with the MhIST logo printed on to it, rounders bats and balls, registration into the rounders league and payment for services such as referees once play gets under way next season.
For information about MhIST, call 01204 527200, or at www.mhist.co.uk
