A MOTORIST who smashed into a wall while driving in foggy conditions had been drinking, a court heard.
Stephen Murphy, aged 20, of Green Bank, Harwood, admitted an offence of drink driving in Watling Street, Affetside, at Bury magistrates' court.
He was banned from driving for twelve months, fined £150 and told to pay £45 court costs. Jacqueline Stott, prosecuting, said police were called to an accident in Watling Street in which a car had hit a wall and turned on its side.
Murphy was interviewed and admitted he had had 'a couple of pints'.
A reading showed he had 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.
