LOFTY the Lion has handed over a cheque for £1,000 raised at an auction night for the Mayor of Bolton's Asian Earthquake appeal.
The auction was organised by Apna News, a monthly magazine based in Westhoughton, aimed at the Asian Community.
It was held at the Greenfield Private Members club in November. Items up for auction included a match-day box at Bolton Wanderers, a day behind the scenes at Greater Manchester Police forensics and a day in the Mayor's parlour.
Azizah Musa, project manager of Apna News, said: "The prizes were excellent and everyone had a really great time raising money for a very worthy cause. The venue, DJ and food were all provided free of charge."
