LEIGH RMI have an early attempt to recover from their 6-1 drubbing by Stalybridge when they entertain Nuneaton on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm).
The visitors are fresh from their FA Cup heroics when they took Middlesbrough to a replay.
But it has impacted on their league form and the team, second in the table, are without a win this month.
Leigh won three out of four games over the Christmas period to lift the Hilton Park gloom, but three successive defeats has left them just above the relegation zone. They desperately need points and manager Andy Nelson is pinning his hopes on new signing Alex Hay, who will make his debut tonight after joining from Bangor City.
Nelson hopes the former Tranmere and Rushden striker can give a cutting edge upfront, but accepts that he has massive problems with six players sidelined through injury.
He said: "We have had two heavy defeats and the lads confidence has taken a battering and I am hoping that Rays experience will make a difference."
