A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a father of three.
Paul Birmingham, aged 19, of Grasmere Road, Swinton, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Monday.
It is alleged that he killed Eric Glenn Watson, aged 50, of Brookhouse Avenue, Farnworth.
Mr Watson suffered head injuries in an incident as he walked along Bow Street, in Bolton town centre, on Sunday, October 30. He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital but later died.
Birmingham also denies a charge of affray.
Following his death and in line with his wishes, Mr Watson's organs were donated to give others the gift of life. At the time, his partner, Sonia Steventon, said: "He was a kind, gentle man who gave to charities."
Two other men also appeared in court in connection with the incident.
Robert Edwards, aged 23, of Coniston Road, Swinton, admitted affray. Michael Faux, aged 19, of Bingham Street, Swinton, did not enter a plea, but is also charged with affray.
A trial date has been set for June 19. All three were remanded on bail.
