POLICE say they have received a good response to an appeal for information about the identity of two pickpockets.
CCTV images were published in last Thursday's Bolton Evening News of a couple they wanted to speak to after a pensioner was robbed in the Late Shop in Westhoughton minutes after she had picked up her pension.
The 73-year-old was shopping when a man struck up a conversation with her. While she was distracted, her cream leather purse containing £350 was stolen from her handbag.
Sgt Martin Bell, of the Bolton robbery unit, said: "As a result of the appeal, we were inundated with telephone calls and are following up a number of lines of inquiry."
